Overall goal of the program
Increase and enhance HIV counselling and testing utilization and reproductive health services, in a youth friendly approach to improve access to effective prevention, care and support of youths infected or affected by HIV and AIDS.
The program services entail

Education and mobilisation on HIV& AIDS and sexual health information.

Provision of VCT services: standalone sites, mobile VCT and Outreach services.

Formation and running of Post test clubs.

Offers psychological support to HIV positives youths through support groups.

Offer a free and confidential sexual health advice and information through a youth hotline telephone services.

Provides recreational facilities for the youths.

Enhancing and capacity building the youth group members & youth friendly sites through technical advice both from LVCT and visiting Interns.
Where are these services provided?
LVCT youth friendly VCT services are mainly based in Nyanza province and amongst those are in areas considered as hard to reach areas. LVCT Youth friendly sites are in:

Lucky youth initiative in Suba District –Within Mbita town.

Masaba youth group in Nyamira District –Gesima location.

Ruma youth friendly VCT in Bondo District-Madiany division -Ruma location.

Uranga Hope youth VCT in Siaya District –Uranga Division –Nyandorera location.

Kadibo youth friendly VCT –Kisumu District –Kadibo division –Between Migingo & Aledu location.

One on One youth hotline -LVCT Hurlighum office in Nairobi.
Programs achievements so far

Training of ten youth counsellors.

Five youth friendly site in operation in Nyanza province

Increasing uptake of youths seeking HIV counselling and testing, information giving and referrals to reproductive health services, through voluntary counselling and testing.

Facilitating formation of post-test clubs and using post test club members in mobilisation activities.

Formation of support groups that are formed and run by youths

Using evidence to advocate for and influence the government and other policy makers in addressing youth issues by carrying out research studies.

Support HIV positive youths to mobilize and become the voice for others using the already existing groups for youths living with HIV and AIDS.
